About
The Passetto di Borgo, also called Er Coridore di Borgo or the Passetto, is an elevated passage that links Vatican City with the Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome. The passage is an approximately 800-metre-long (2,600 ft) corridor, built within an old city wall of Rome. Its most significant purpose was to provide the Pope with a protected escape route from the Vatican, and it was used at least twice for this reason. It is located in the rione of Borgo.
